Prisoner in time

She's watched the world pass by
From this sidewalk prison called her.

Sentenced to a quagmire called life
She's wasted on a dreams of lies.
Prayers, pardons, pleas and screams
All shredded and dusted in a pit of dreams.

A million tears have watered her garden

The countless years wasted on hope.
She yearns a tomorrow clothed in redemption
She dreams a nightmare in dungeons of deep.
Deliverance, she whispers, is an endless dance
Are you my enemy or my sullen song.

Glass windows and rain drop patterns

They mock her ruin in glint sunshine.
Full moon nights or freeway magic
All yesterdays implode in toxic design.

She smiles today and cries in vain
For she is forever the prisoner in time.
